Coming from humble beginnings, Tami Aloisa has always striven for more and better than where she started, and she has always had a strong desire for financial independence and freedom. “I am cost-conscious and save money where I can. This mindset helps me view most things from the perspective of ‘what’s in it for me,’ allowing me to highlight the extreme value we provide in helping folks make the most of their financial resources,” Tami says.

“When I started in the industry, I had no concept of money or investments and remember thinking the advisor I worked with had a ridiculous number of clients with the first name of ‘Ira,’ which is funny now. The lecture I received made me see how much I had to learn, and I understood how others had to be confused too. This experience was my motivation to obtain the various credentials I hold. I wanted the reasons WHY that I could explain when I recommended options to my clients,” she says.

“The first 20 years of my career was spent at big banks and brokerages representing the firms I worked for, and I built a successful business doing that. But I wanted to be able to seat myself on the same side of the table as my clients as a true fiduciary, and so in 2017, I took a huge leap of faith and established Life Transitions Planning to do just that! Our mission is to help people make the best choices with the financial hand they are dealt so they can achieve financial independence.”

Personal Information

Tami grew up in Syracuse, New York and spent her college years at the State University in Oswego on the shores of Lake Ontario, where she received her bachelor’s degree and met her husband, Chuck. (“Brrr, they measured snowfall in feet,” she says.) Right after graduation, she started her career on Wall Street in early 1995.

In search of warmer climates, Tami and Chuck moved to Viginia Beach in the early 2000s where she earned her real credentials, aka on the job training. “Every part of a person’s financial picture is important when you are helping them make a plan. It’s not just about buying stocks; it’s about making sure the options are all a solid fit holistically inside their financial plan.”

The couple’s family began in 2006 with the arrival of a son, and a few short years later, in 2009, a daughter was added to the mix. The two fur babies came in early 2022. “My 94-year-old mother-in-law also lives with us, giving me a deep understanding of how stressful it is to care for the elderly and teens at the same time. Our house is often chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Tami says.

“My limited free time is spent reading Stephen King’s classics, traveling when and wherever possible, daily dog walks and enjoying the gorgeous Oceanfront! But most of all, I love to spend time with my family. True wealth is time, having time to enjoy and relish in life’s most important moments. My goal is to help my clients enjoy all their moments by giving them what I believe are the best steps to take to achieve this financial independence,” she says.
