Meet LTPs Founder

Founded by Tami Aloisa in 2017, and based on her extensive experience through three decades of market cycles, at Life Transitions Planning, we know that if we can guide people to creating a strong and flexible financial foundation and help them clarify what truly matters to them, then they will be financially stronger for the rest of their lives. That’s quite the return on investment, we’d say!

Starting You Where You’re At

We help people when they are at a crossroads—where they are facing many choices and have a lot of ‘stuff’ happening and choices to make that impact their security of the rest of their life. We want to guide them towards making the right choices for them. We focus on two main groups because of the extreme complexity of their finances and the lack of consolidated information available to them to make the right choices. We strive to be their go-to resource that has helped many others in their position make the best choices possible. These specific groups are federal pre-retirees (and retirees) and women contemplating or involved in a divorce and unsure of what steps to take next.

Federal Employees / Pre-Retirees / Retirees

Federal employees are finding themselves at a historic ‘fork in the road.’ This group must make irrevocable choices regarding their benefit elections when they retire. During the current political situation, federal employees are being forced to retire much sooner than they planned, and they need solid information and an action plan QUICK. That is where we step in, giving them a guidebook to retirement and their benefits to help them achieve the lifestyle they want. And while we know a lot about federal retirement benefits, we also help individuals and couples in the private sector navigate retirement risks and generate lifetime retirement income streams, with guarantees backed by the financial strength and claims-paying ability of insurance companies.

Women Alone / Women Facing Divorce

Women who divorcing or considering a divorce are faced with big decisions with lasting effects. Often women earn a lower income than their spouses and have a lesser understanding of the financial complexities of the couple. Conflicting information is thrown at them by others and mindless internet searches. We want to help women obtain an equitable settlement and put together an action plan to help them secure their financial future to and through retirement.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will Your Fee Be Reasonable For Me?

It’s important to note that we work with every level of client—not just the very wealthy. We get paid in a variety of ways. For instance, you can pay us a one-time fee for us to develop your plan and then take it from there. For most, we charge a fee for investments or “assets under management,” typically 1%, but this can be lower at higher asset levels. This arrangement puts us on the same side of the table, so to speak. We only earn more when you earn more, and we don’t make commission on stock market or securities trades. When it comes to insurance and annuity products, we are paid directly by insurance companies, and we will explain and disclose all of the fee information when we examine contract details together before you consider signing anything.

2. Are You a Fiduciary?

A fiduciary works in the best interests of the client at all times. And yes, we always put your financial interests first. We are a fee-based advisor, and we disclose all fees. Our founder’s CFP® as well as other financial services industry designations require us to operate as a fiduciary.

3. What Are Your Qualifications and Experience?

Tami Aloisa has achieved five financial designations. These include Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®) and Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®). Each of these gives her advanced training in unique areas of financial planning, and they help qualify her to work with individuals who face specific obstacles. Tami also has more than 30 years of experience as an advisor and has worked for three major firms and on two military bases.

4. Who Is Your Custodian?

We only use third-party custodians and do not take custody of your funds ourselves. We feel this is advantageous to you in helping you retain control. We use a variety of custodians, including Raymond James, Charles Schwab, and Fidelity.

5. Do You Consider Taxes When Making Recommendations?

Unlike some firms, part of our mission is keeping your tax obligation as low as possible, and we consider taxes in each decision we make. We can discuss the tax ramifications of different investments and help you estimate your net return.
